Simple and elegant functionality in solid wood.

On Board offers between six and twelve well-proportioned table pieces for dining or meetings. The table can be extended so that in case guests arrive, there will be room for them as well.

On Board is an honest, modern version of the classic long table, with the addition of refined details and a high adaptability to a variety of needs. While fulfilling the basic task of being a practical dining table. On Board also takes the aspect of tolerances and accuracy in solid woodwork to a new level.

PP850 On Board comes with four leaves for ultimate flexibility. The leaves are stored underneath the table top for easy access.

The highest possible flexibility is achieved by the 4 extension leaves that are made in two different widths. This means that the PP850 OnBoard Table can be extended from the initial 87.4" to a maximum of 144" in 10.24" increments.

Thomas E. Alken

Thomas E. Alken is a Danish designer working with PP Møbler, who has established a good position in the Scandinavian design scene with many successful designs behind him.

Thomas E. Alken was born in Copenhagen in 1970. He graduated from the Danish Design School (KADK) in 1997, with additional studies from the University of Art and Design in Helsinki (UIAH). In 1997 he founded the design studio Format design in the heart of Copenhagen, with the aim of providing dedicated furniture—and product design as well as design advisory for Danish and international clients.

Thomas E. Alken quickly became a significant player in the design scene. Since he always insisted on taking part in every step of the design process, he gathered a lot of design and production experience from all over the world.

The broadness of my profession will always be something I highly appreciate—one day I find myself in a fancy showroom in the north of Italy—the next on a factory floor in the south of Vietnam—and there is always useful knowledge to transfer from one day to the next.

Over the past 20 years, Thomas E. Alken has established a good position in the Scandinavian design scene with many successful designs and tasks behind him. He continues to investigate the interaction between user and object, which has given him a deep understanding of functionality and a material-driven focus concerning beauty, strength, tactility, production, and environmental impact.

Today the studio works with passionate high-end and midrange brands in many parts of the world.

PP Møbler of Denmark
It is our pleasure to share with you our love of Scandinavian craftsmanship and design and to introduce the exquisite world of PP Møbler. Founded amidst the post WWII flowering of Danish Modern, PP Møbler has become a conservatory of profound knowledge and a wellspring of enthusiasm for design and crafts.

PP Møbler was founded on April 2, 1953 by brothers Lars Peder and Ejnar Pedersen in Allerød, a small town north of Copenhagen. The company has evolved through three generations of master cabinetmakers into one of the world's most important and highly skilled workshops. Each day artisans use advanced traditional techniques as well as cutting edge technology to make some of the most exceptionally demanding and yet beautifully resolved furniture ever designed.

The first generation was a strong team. Lars Peder Pedersen was a man of the workshop with extraordinary skills. His leadership and enthusiasm created an atmosphere that inspired his craftsmen to achieve the high standards which gained the Company a reputation for outstanding quality. Ejnar Pedersen was more of a creative thinker with a strong network to architects and designers. His frequent experiments and making of prototypes led to the close friendship and collaboration with Hans J. Wegner that has become the cornerstone of the development of this brand.

All designs are made to order and the PP Møbler ambition is to create furniture that will be enjoyed and treasured for generations.
